Was a bit skeptical at first as I had read a few nasty reviews. However, on arrival I was absolutely stunned by how warming and welcoming it was. The host (Kavita I think her name was… apologies for spelling!) was absolutely lovely and the place was serene, clean and calm. I felt so relaxed after leaving and would recommend it to everyone. The location is ideal too, close to summertown and only a 10 minute bus journey into the main centre. For the price especially, it is a no brainer to stay here! I most definitely will be staying again.

Hotel Review – Marlborough House, Oxford Marlborough House is in good condition and conveniently located near Summertown in Oxford, with a direct bus connection to the city centre. Car parking spaces are limited, but you can park for free on the nearby side streets during weekends. The hotel room is suitable for two people; for one person, it might feel a bit pricey. I did not opt for the breakfast service, so I can’t comment on that. Overall, it’s a decent accommodation. My only complaint is that the pillows provided are too high — I would have preferred medium-height ones.

Stayed here for a weekend family trip and absolutely loved it! The neighborhood is quiet, and there’s a bus stop to town right next to us! Our room had everything we needed, having a fridge and microwave was such a bonus. We arrived late, but the self check-in was super easy. Highly recommend!

The staff are so lovely and friendly, and the beds are very comfortable! Also a nice distance from the city centre and university, about a 45 minute walk down to the main shops. I've stayed here twice, and definitely will stay again next time I come to Oxford!

Definitely adding this place to my Oxford list. Surprised by the huge room and microwave!!! Also appreciate the stretching guide very much :) Mini bar is reasonably priced, cheaper than pubs and comparable to convenience shops. The night is quiet apart from the hardworking fridge. Easy ride to the city center by bus. Instantly felt at home… (and told my parents too XD) Wish I could stay longer and maybe try the breakfast.

Marlborough House Hotel is one of those places that truly makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The hospitality is incredibly warm, and the staff genuinely go above and beyond to make sure your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and that really makes all the difference. The rooms are beautifully spacious, giving you plenty of room to relax, and one detail that really stood out was being able to choose between hard or soft pillows. It’s not something you usually get in hotels, but it’s such a thoughtful touch and hugely appreciated — it shows how much they care about guest comfort. The hotel is set in the lovely neighbourhood of Summertown, and they do a great job of pointing you in the right direction with recommendations on what to do nearby. It’s a charming area to explore, and Oxford itself is a wonderful place to visit in both summer and winter, each season offering its own kind of magic. What really makes Marlborough House special, though, is the staff. They’re always happy to help you plan your day in Oxford, whether it’s sightseeing, dining, or just exploring at a relaxed pace. Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely kind, they create an atmosphere that makes you want to come back. I couldn’t recommend Marlborough House Hotel more highly. Thank you, Kavita, for a lovely stay! We hope to be back again soon!
